We’re not talking about your fluffy white rice here. Use the RICE technique to help speed up recovery from a sprain or strain.

  • Rest – you need to avoid all activities which shall cause stress on the injured
  • Ice – As mentioned above
  • Compression – Try a compression wrap to get relief. This can be in the form of elastic bandage. This will help in reducing the swelling and will also offer good support.
  • Elevation – When you raise your injured leg above the level of your heart, it will help in reducing or preventing the fluid pool.

The key aspect of using the rest, ice, compression, elevation technique is that you do all 4 steps. If you injure yourself you need to take the time required to fully heal and following the complete RICE treatment will get you back on the right path faster.
